The right amount of distance

​Hello everyone!

This is the distance between "Haku & Canon," a couple of Owlvillage's male barnowls, today.

We are often asked by our clients, "Don't the owls in Owlvillage ever lay eggs?
So far, no member has laid eggs in six years, even though it is very possible.
They do go into mating season from winter to spring, so their behavior foreshadows the season of love, but...
Our owls are not bred for breeding purposes, so we try to keep them out of estrus as much as possible.
This is because during the estrus season, they may become aggressive or sick easily due to the effects of hormones, and their bodies may be overloaded.

Even so, we take a break from touching the owls when they are in heat, or take a rest in the back yard so as not to stress them out as much as possible.
If all of the owls go into heat at the same time...
Owlvillage will have to take a break, lol.

I hope one day we will be able to have an Owls baby....
